On 9 October 2006, at 10:35 local time, a seismic disturbance beneath the Punggye‑ri test site in northeast North Korea registered on global networks. 1995 Colima–Jalisco earthquake
On October 9, 1995, a major undersea earthquake off the coasts of Colima and Jalisco — centered near the port of Manzanillo — produced strong shaking, a damaging tsunami along nearby shores, dozens of deaths, hundreds of injuries, and widespread disruption to coastal communities.
