1994 Mindoro earthquake
On November 27, 1994, a shallow, powerful earthquake beneath the Mindoro Sea shook the islands of Mindoro and nearby provinces. With a reported magnitude in the early 7.0s, the temblor toppled unreinforced masonry, triggered landslides and liquefaction, and left dozens dead and hundreds injured.
